The status of Sex and the City 3 is a bit like Big and Carrie's relationship: One day it's on because Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis are tweeting about it. The next it's off, dismissed as a rumor.

But whether it'll ever happen, SJP answers definitively, still hasn't been decided."It remains a not-often-had conversation," she told Matt Lauer on the ​Today ​show. "I know—and [writer-director] Michael Patrick [King] knows well—the story we might tell, if we ever tell it. But the real truth, and I'm not being cagey, is we've not discussed a when."

Parker knows she's leading us on: "It's such a hard question to answer because everybody reads and projects so much into what I say. There is a story. When and if we tell it remains unknown."

So hope still, definitely.
